Our story began in 2019. We were a small group of friends who would frequently get together to play Texas Hold’Em poker. Each time, someone would bring a selected bottle of whiskey to share and sample, and that's where our obsession started. No matter the whiskey type — Bourbons, Ryes, Canadian, Scotch, Irish – we loved all of it.
Our name origin came from a trifecta of ideas: our newfound love for whiskey, our poker roots, and our location. The club is comprised of a group of friends who live in Ohio and West Virginia, near the banks of the Ohio River. Additionally, in poker the last card in Texas Hold’Em is referred to as “the river.” So it seemed fitting to roll it all into one: Bourbon our favorite type of whiskey, our location near the Ohio River, and the poker aspect.
And thus, "Bourbon On The River" was formed.
